Two algorithms of geodesic line length calculation considering elevation in eLoran systems

چکیده

Abstract The existing LOng RAnge Naviating System stations are mostly used by marine users and situated at offshore, low‐altitude locations. As a result, the impact of height on system's positioning accuracy is usually ignored. However, direct transplantation calculation methods to high‐altitude areas will bring errors in results due lack elevation consideration. In order improve new enhanced Loran system reduce error caused geodetic line length without considering high altitude areas, this paper proposes two different algorithms establish reference ellipsoids height‐caused error, namely algorithm expansion ellipsoid algorithm. Experiments show that smaller, except it not applicable when azimuth 90° or 270°. created has smaller changes, geographical coordinates can be considered independent, which more with application requirements.
